Terms & conditions

Last updated 1 July 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Be Outside. By creating an account or joining a trip you accept them, so it's worth a read.

  1. 1. Your account
  2. 2. Trips and content you create
  3. 3. Safety is your responsibility

  5. 5. Third-party services
  6. 6. Ending your account
  7. 7. Liability
  8. 8. Changes and contact

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.

Give us accurate information. If we find an account is impersonating someone else or using false details, we may suspend it.

2. Trips and content you create

You keep ownership of the itineraries, notes and photos you upload. You grant us a licence to store and display that content so the product works — for example showing your itinerary to the crew you invited.

Do not post content that is unlawful, misleading about safety conditions, or that infringes someone else’s rights.

3. Safety is your responsibility

Be Outside is a planning tool, not a guiding service. We do not verify trail conditions, weather, permits, or the competence of trip organisers. Assess your own fitness and the conditions before you set out, and follow local regulations and access rules.

4. Costs and payments

Cost figures shown in a trip are estimates entered by organisers or drawn from third-party sources. We do not process payments between members and are not party to any money changing hands within a crew.

5. Third-party services

Trips may link to booking sites, mapping providers and calendar services. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.

6. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Danger zone. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Some records may be retained where the law requires it.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Be Outside is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including injury or loss occurring on a trip. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Changes and contact

We will notify you of material changes to these terms by email or in-app before they take effect. Questions? Reach us at legal@be-outside.app.
